Is Axcan The Right Medication For Sharp Pains Under Breast?

last sunday i was in the er with sharp pains under my left breast.... it would come and go.... when it would go i would get gas or have to go #2 or have to burp.... the er dr. put me on axcan the generic is carafate i was doing good til today and it started again only one time.... i go to my GI dr. wednesday am i being treated properly? i had a ct scan done with the dye does that also check my heart too? thanks melissa

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe it appears to be the gastric pain referred to the chest, problem in the chest lungs, or pleura, or a heart pain.
If some thing is found in the C.T.scan, it is O.K. other wise you may need to have gastroscopy, E.C.G, echo etc. for confirmation.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms omeprazole, domperidone,and antacid gel.
avoid taking spices, junk foods, and oily foods.
