Is Autism Hereditary?
My niece is going through a terrible scare.. a 2nd ultrasound at 24 weeks is still showing a dark shadow on the heart. But she already had a test for down syndrome and it came back negative, so what else could it be? Is autism hereditary? She has autism in her family and that's her worry.

Current research suggests that genes do play a significant role in the causes of Autism. But it is a very complex mechanism. There is no single gene believed to be responsible for autism. The other important fact is the environment ( e.g viruses) that may trigger previous genetic predispositions

autism is not a hereditary ,hence please be in terrible scare,infact you should talk to your sonologist about your studies and talk then to your obstetrician ok
