Welcome to HCM,
Please do not jump to medical conclusions. The labs you gave are only a general blood count with differential. This type of test does not even begin to explore the most frequent causes of anemia, which in children is iron.

The doctor should run a serum ferritin test, a TIBC and a total iron test. In addition, I would check for a B12 level and a folic acid test. An adequate intake of iron, B12, folic acid, and/ or protein is needed to produce red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC), and platelets, and for normal growth.

So, before you worry about these major diagnosis, first run the nutrition tests and any absorption tests the doctor may determine necessary before being concerned about something more serious.

My best wishes to you, Kathryn J. Shattler, MS,RDN
