My 1.5 year old daughter had anal itching with anal irritation almost 2 weeks ago, I saw a few tiny thread like things around her Anus when she was sleeping, the following morning we all took pin-x. She started to have redness around her Anus again so I repeated the dose one week later in her and myself because I started to feel a funny sensation in my bottom. 4 days later she pooped out 3 rice like things in her stool and I had a very upset stomach resulting in several alive worms in the toilet, fully formed ranging from 1-2 inches long and swimming actively. I was horrified, and called my PCP who called me in a rx for albendazole 400mg once now and repeat in 2 weeks...is this enough therapy? What should I expect after taking this drug and should I get my daughter treated with the same drug?
