I am truly sorry about your granddaughter- no one should ever have to suffer through that
I believe that there is never a case where abortion
is not a bad thing. This is not to say that anyone should be held in condemnation or judgement for having an abortion.
There is no Christian (or any other religion for that matter)- no matter how strong , how devoted , how firm in their beliefs that can say what they would do in someone else's shoes. We can come up with ideal situations but we do not live in an ideal world and in a situation like your granddaughters, there will be suffering and hardship either way.
The abortion would not change the terrible thing that happened- it is just trading in one set of problems for another that seems less difficult or complicated.
To be honest, I would have counseled a different way to go but I would not, and I would not tolerate anyone who would point the finger in judgement and condemnation against her had she chosen abortion anyway.
I , myself could not say I would have done any different in her shoes though I believe there is a better way- I cannot say I , myself stand without sin , even in areas that I know better.
What people need to realize is that it is not all or nothing, that a person CAN hold an anti - abortion viewpoint but still be filled with compassion and lovingkindness and display it even when we don't agree with actions taken
Those that disagree with my opinion, should not automatically assume that just because I hold a particular belief that I will look down on them or be unyeilding, unforgiving or condemning when you do disagree or I don't change my standardss for special circumstances
