Is Abdominal Pain And Body Ache Sign Of UTI?

Hi there i went to my GP last tuesday, concerns for a urine infection and sinus infection. He said i had swollen sinuses, i told him i was getting headaches, chest pain - very congested and alot of heartburn, tired and aches he said this was from the infection and i mentioned i kept needing the loo and had cramping so he took a sample and im to hear back this week. He put me on 3 per day amoxicillin for 5 days and this was to cover a possible uti aswel. I have finished my 5 day course of antibiotics and overall my sinuses are cleared no more headaches, just a sneeze here and there! My possible uti urge to pee reduced and less pelvic pain... although 2 days or so i have still been experiencing a few things. I'm still getting body aches, mostly arms sometimes top of back inbetween shoulders - i don't know if its my body fighting the infection and its just aching? Chest pains reduced alot tho one or two if i bend and pick something up as if ive strained something.. is that still recovering also? And today i got a few lower abdominal pain bottom right and lower back ache and don't know if i still have a uti or its moved to another organ such as the kidneys? I am well, there's no blood present and never was, i past stools today and again no blood. i am due my period in the next few days tho it doesn't feel like a menstrual cramp!

1. Are my body aches still lingering from the recent infection? Do i still maybe have it is my body trying to fight it n resulting in aches?

2. Is my lower abominal pain just needing a couple days to flush the last bit out? or is it something else? Im sure my GP will have the cause from my urine sample.

I am female, 23 years old with two kids one 5 months old.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is still a presence of low grade infection in the body giving rise to the above said symptoms. Due to residual infection part, the remaining body ache is there. You still need treatment of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory agents as per decision of your doctor. Along with that consume plenty of liquids, take balanced nutritious diet to combat the infection, remain ambulatory, regular walking, exercises, yoga will support.

Abdominal pain will be completely okay once the urine infection is under control totally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
