Is Abdominal Pain And Blood In Stools A Symptom Of Bowel Cancer?

I am waiting to see a Gastoenterologist on the 19th of January in a rapid response clinic. I ahve been suffering from abdominal pain, sometimes higher in the abdomen, and most often lower in the abdomen, along with loss of weight, early satiety, light headedness and other symptoms. In the last couple of days, I have had some maroon or brighter red blood mixed in with my stools. I feel unsure as to whether I should go to the A and E Department of my local hospital before my appointment on the 19th as I am extremely worried that I may have bowel cancer.
