Is A Weeping Wound On Leg Despite Taking Antibiotics Due To An Infectious Disease?
My husband has had a wound on his leg for a scrub he was pruning and swelling on top of his foot for over 3 months. Was on anitbiotics for 30 days. The wound is weeping and not healing. I have a picture I could send if that would help. He was at the Doctors about a month ago and the Doctor said it was looking good. Not true at all. How can I get him to see an Infectious Disease Doctor. I'm afraid he will loose his foot and leg.
I can understand your concern for the weeping wound on leg despite taking antibiotics.
After reading the query, in my opinion it appears to be two possibilities:
1. Planter wart with secondary infection: There are small points of holes on the area with pain.
2. Corn or callocities: There is thick skin on the area with pain over the same.
I suggest you to meet a proper dermatologist. Do not pinch, pop or scratch or even touch the area unnecessarily as it can cause aggravation of the rash.
Wear cotton socks and soft shoes which will give a soothing feeling to the skin.
