Is A Delayed Period With Frequent Urination Signs Of Pregnancy?

maybe you can help me. i am 19 yrs old 5ft 4in and about 100lbs. i am on birth control and today is the day i am supposed to start my menstrual cycle. it usually comes overnight or early to mid morning. i know its okay to be a little late but i also have frequent urination, mostly a scanty output but i am having to go way more than normal. I am also not even bloated or have not had one menstrual cramp which is highly unusual for me. Could this be an indication of pregnancy?

Hallow Dear,

Please be patient. Few hours delay in menses is not at all considered as delayed period or missed period. Moreover, you are on oral contraceptive pills and have been taking them as per the schedule. They are having very good success rate in preventing pregnancy. There is no reason why you should suspect pregnancy. Wait for few days and you will get your periods.

You are having frequent scanty urination. This could be due to urinary infection.

Oral contraceptive pills contain Progestational medicines which cause the dilatation of the pelvis of the kidney and the ureter, ultimately leading to stagnation of urine in the pelvis of kidney. This can cause urine infection.

Please get your urine examined. If it shows any evidence of urinary infection, submit the urine for culture and sensitivity test which will identify the causative organisms and the antibiotics to which they are sensitive. Accordingly, appropriate antibiotics can be started.

Meanwhile, drink plenty of water - barley water will be still better. Do not hold on for urination. Stagnation of urine should be avoided.

Report to the Gynaecologist ASAP.
