Hello,

I understand your concerns. The normal rate of cholesterol it is until the 180 as you have seen maybe. It would be more helpful if I knew your age.
Anyway If you don't have any family story with high level of cholesterol, or cardiac problems I don't
that it is think a big problem for being worry, but for being in normal rate
and lower the risk of hypercholesterolemia, it is better to pay attention. In my opinion I will recomand more the diet and weight loss(usually for value of cholesterol under 220 it is one of the first choice of treatment), try to avoid fatty oily food, red meet, alchool and have more in your diet vegetables. Walk at least 1 hour per day. This are something I would say to my patient if he will come with the same concern. And after 3 months of this changes, do again the analyse of cholesterol for seing the difference and than decide about the medication what to do.
I hope my anser was helpful!
Best Regards,

Dr Eniola
