Is A Brief Ringing And A Little Sensation In The Ear Caused By A Slap Is A Cause Of Concern?
36 male, 200 lbs. - I was slapped by my wife near the ear last night in an argument. My ear rang briefly for a min or so. I haven't noticed any vertigo and hearing is fine but a little sensation (like slight pain or feels little warm) on that ear... Am I ok to not see a doctor? can't afford visit right now..
Hi, Trauma to the ear, like a strong slap could lead to rupture of tympanic membrane. Things that you would feel are a sudden ear block like sensation, may be some bleeding,or some ringing sensation, or sometimes no symptoms at all. In any case, there is high chance that it will recover by itself Things that you should take care are, 1.Strictly avoid water entry into the ear, avoid swimming. 2.Treat upper respiratory infections as early as possible Avoid instillation of any ear drops also If you have frank ear discharge, hearing deficit or itching it's best to consult the specialist.
