Is A Blood Sugar Of 168 High?

I just measured my blood sugar at 168 after big bowel of fresh fruit for breakfast. Is this unusually high for a 58 year old? While fasting blood sugar was 82. Breakfast was basket of strawberries, blueberries, and an orange. I m 6 foot, 175 pounds. Healthy, as far as I know.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Diabetes can be diagnosed using the fasting blood sugar, 2 hour post meal blood sugar or HbA1c (' looks at how much sugar has 'stuck' unto the blood in a 3 month period).

Neither your fasting or 2 hour post meal is in the diabetic range. If the 168 is 2 hours post your meal, it would be in the pre diabetic range which means there is a risk of becoming a diabetic.

These test results can be confirmed by your doctor.

I hope this helps
