Is Zincovit Safe To Be Taken For OCD?

my son he is 22 years old.he is suffering from ocd.doctor is treating him by homeopathy treatment for last 8 months, but of no use.same doctor has given him t. frext 100 & t. zypsidon 20.after taking these tab he is not comfortable. i asked dr about this and now he has suggested to give him zincovit.i would like to know what are the side effects of zincovit.

Zincovit is a medicine which contains multivitamins and essential trace elements and is used for the treatment of hair loss, acne, poor diet, anemia, wound healing and other conditions.

It is not effective in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) but can be taken safely if there is a need as mentioned above.

Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) is an atypical antipsychotic which is basically used in the treatment of schizophrenia (a mood disorder or reality abnormally) and mania (abnormally elevated mood).

It is not used in the treatment of OCD.

For the treatment of OCD in adults usually antidepressants belonging to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors like Fluoxetine, Fluvoxamine, Paroxetine or Sertraline are commonly prescribed.

This treatment may not result in a cure, but it can help bring symptoms under control so that they don't rule your daily life.

As per the history given he does not seem to get benefitted from Frext-100.

I would recommend him to be evaluated by a psychiatric for an alternate effective but a safer medication to control the symptoms of OCD.
