Is Valtrex Along With Cipro Advisable For UTI?

Hi, I have a cold sore on my bottom lip and also have a uti (I get both very often.) I just picked up Valtrex from my pharmacy and have some left over Cipro from my previous uti. Just wondering if it was okay to take them both during the same time? Thank you!

Hi & Welcome to HCM.
There's no documented harmful interaction between the two given medications, hence you may take Valtrex of herpes labialis (cold sore on the lips) and Ciprofloxacin for urinary tract infection. However, you are advised to consult a GP before starting the treatment as self medication is not a safe practice and the fact that you have recurrent UTI which needs to be investigated properly and treated accordingly.
Hope this will help you.
