Is Valium Advisable Instead Of Propofol During Tooth Extraction?
On monday I Decided(very stupidly I might add) to trip on some cough medicine. now, this may sound very stupid but after reading several pages online about the effects of DXM I was convinced, the problem is that On friday I have a ORal surgeon appointment to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth. He plans on using Propofol to knock me out for the procedure. My blood pressure has been about 130/90 since the trip and hasnt gone down. Im also worried about Serotonin Syndrome as I am not familiar with Propofol. Would it be possible to ask the doctor to use Valium instead as it might be safer for me? If not would the propofol be alright or should I reschedule for my safety
Propofol is a versatile drug, achieving sedation and anaesthesia. Valium only a sedative. If your oral surgeon planned to extract all four wisdom teeth propofol is a better amenestic agent.
