Is Sulfamethoxazole Safe To Be Taken During Pregnancy?
I recently was put on sulfamethoxazole for a uti.. I had a feeling I was pregnant a few weeks earlier and had a negative test. Today I realized my period was now a week late and got 4 positive pregnancy tests.. Would the medication interfere with this or is it safe to say I m pregnant?

Hello welcome to HCM. It is better you avoid taking further tablets. These drugs crosses placenta. Sulfamethoxazole should only be given during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk. Take lots of fluid for UTI. If the infection is not relieved then take advice from obstretician for the alternative drugs.My best wishes with you. Take care
