Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had shortness of breath and dry cough since 15 days ,my doc has prescribed me Ambrolite S , deriphline retard 150 and montral but am not finding any difference..Only when I take Ambrolite S I get relief but after few hours again I get this breathing problem. Will Sinarest help liquidifying mucus?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Ambrolite S contains Ambroxol and Salbutamol. Ambroxol would help to liquefy mucous as it is a mucolytic agent. Salbutamol helps in easy breathing as it is a bronchodilator. Sinarest contains Chlorpheniramine maleate and Phenylephrine. It has anti-allergic and decongestant action. It does not have liquification of mucous action. Kindly consult Physician in this regard if the medications what you are taking are not giving you proper relief, so that appropriate medications can be changed to. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
