Is Rabies Vaccination Advisable For A Child With Dog S Scratches On Legs?
Hello Sir/ Madame My son 4.5 is years. We suspect a stray dog has scratched on his leg by nails or may be a tooth bite. There was a very minor mark on the skin and no blood oozed out. He cried aloud and signed something about dog which make us suspicious. He is having profound hearing loss and we had done cochlear implant on right ear. His spoken language is still not fully developed. My question is that it s Ok to go for anti rabies vaccine when in doubt about the exposure. Will there be any side effect. For your information we are planning to have surgery for his left ear for cochlear implant. Thank you very much.
I share your concerns. I would advise you to go for anti rabiesvaccination. Giving anti rabies will not cause any harm, in fact it will give future immunity. But if it is not given and there was a dog bite, it could be life threatening. Vaccine can be given to child, there's no problem with that. So immediately visit a hospital and get vaccines for your child.
I hope I have clarified your queries. Please write to hcm or me for follow up queries. I wish him good health. Hit a thanks. Thank you
