Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a delayed period for a little less than two months. My doctor prescribed me to use Primolut 10mg once a day for then days. She said i will have my period after i stop using the medicine within 2-3 days or latest at 1 week. Did she prescribed it correctly since i have seen a different scenario on other cases?
The primolut would help the period to restart. It is a progesterone based medication with different uses including this one.
It is commonly used for a 10 day period.
If your period does not restart then you may need to have an assessment to determine if the cause.
Delayed period can also be related to: (1)PCOS (2)inadequate diet (3)high levels of prolactin hormone (4)physical or emotional stress (5)abnormal levels of thyroid hormone (6)excess physical activity
I hope this helps
