Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Phexin The Right Medication For Partial Kidney Function?
Renal function of my 5 months old boy has been found as 62% & 38% for left and right kidneys respectively through dtpa scan. Doctor (Paediatric Urologist) has prescribed 1.5 ml phexin once in night for 6 months and then another dtpa scan. No block had been detected during cystourethroscopy when he was 25 days old. Is this the right action?
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your son's prescription of phexin (cefalexin) for partial kidney function detected by dtpa scan I will suggest yes this is appropriate as there is likelihood of kidney infection
Phexin is a broad spectrum antibiotics use for treatment of local and systemic disease
So please continue with your prescribed medication
I hope this helps Regards and speedy recovery
