Is Phentermine Advisable While Having Occlusion In The Carotid Artery?

I have recently been diagnosed with a 60 percent occlusion in my right internal carotid artery. Can I still continue to take my Phentermine 37.5 mg? Thank you very sincerely. Janet B. Gusgeski

You have not mentioned why you want to take phentermine. Phentermine is an addicting medicine if a take it for a long time. It will harm you rather than benefitting you if you take it for a long time. You should never share this medicine with another person, especially someone with a history of drug abuse. Using this medicine improperly can cause serious side effects on the heart.
Phentermine is actually contraindicated in patients with significant cardiovascular disease such as coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, uncontrolled high blood pressure. It is also not advisable in persons having occlusion of internal carotid artery because it is also a vascular disorder.
Advice
1.     Do not use phentermine without your doctor’s suggestion
2.     Regular exercise at least 30 minutes for 5 days in a week. The best types of exercise include walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or dancing
3.     Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products
4.     Consume less salt
5.     Avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee and caffeinated beverages
6.     Lose extra weight if you are overweight and keep your body mass index between 19 and 25. BMI is calculated by formula BMI = Weight in Kilograms / (height in meters x height in meters)
7.     Reduce your metal stress
8.     Measure your BP regularly and be in touch with your doctor
9.     Investigations
a.     Fasting lipid profile
b.     Blood sugar (F & PP)

I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question
Thanks
