Is Paracetamol Advisable While On Nexium For Headache And Flu?

I was told I have gastritis almost 2 weeks ago and have been on nexium since and after a few days the pain in my stomach was gone. I m still on nexium, and I now have a very bad flu and the headaches and sore throat and lungs are terrible, I was wondering if I can take paracetamol to manage the pain or if that would upset my gastritis. Thanks Ps, I live in Australia where doctors are free why didn t you tell me this was a paid service upfront lol I ain t gonna pay you for this

Hi & Welcome.
It is safe to take Paracetamol while on Nexium.

Used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain like headache, toothache, osteoarthritis, or cold/flu aches and to reduce fever, Paracetamol is one of the safest medication that can be taken while suffering from gastritis.

It will not cause any harmful interaction as long as you take Nexium for the treatment of gastritis, however to ensure adequate absorption and to have its maximum effects, you should take Nexium alone on an empty stomach one hour before breakfast.

Hope this answers your query.
