Oh, I grow weary warning people about oxyelite. Thank goodness you checked with us. I understand you want to lose weight, but oxyelite has been taken off the market a few times by FDA and has been held responsible for liver failures and heart attacks. Another idea might be to take green coffee (known to melt fat off?) combine with green tea; if heart palpitations or
high blood pressure develop stop the weigh-loss aides. These should, along with a high protein breakfast, speed up the
weight loss. I ran them through my interaction checker with your medication and the green tea, green coffee and Celexa (loxalate) are safe in combination.
There are books out on PCOS, I suggest you obtain one as there is much to learn about eating with this disorder. Some of the guidelines include NO sugar, low carbohydrates emphasizing complex (containing fiber) over simple (sugar, fructose, cakes cookies, muffins) and then to switch the form of fat you eat from saturated to NO
trans fat, limited
saturated fat and high poly and mono-unsaturated fats such as slivers of avocodos, make own dressing from extra virgin olive oil, . . .
EXERCISE for 30 minutes continuous - 5 minute warm-up, 5 min cooldown and 20 minutes at 70% maximum
heart rate.
Loxalate, according to my Drug-Nutrient Interaction manual,2015, stimulates the appetite and may increase or decrease weight. If it works for the
depression, great - then talk to your doctor about a corresponding appetite depressant. If it doesn't work, ask for a weight neutral antidepressant next time she/he changes you,if and when that happens. With this medication, avoid
tryptophan or tryptophan products, St. John's Wort, as they will increase side-effects.
This is a lengthy answer to a simple question. But, I hope it provides some direction. Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
