Is Onglyza Or Glipizide Advisable To Reduce Blood Sugar Levels?
hi there i was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago (a1c 12.0) i was put on metformin 1000 twice a day did not help they added actos 45 and my a1c went higher than 12, actos was removed and the doctor added glipizide 10mg a day and onglyza 5mg plus 2000 metformin a day. my blood sugar was normal but after a month my sugar is going too low at night about 40 and i have to eat a lot to get it higher. which one do you recommend me to stop taking onglyza or glipizide? which one of the two has a better reputation on keeping my sugar low? for some reason my diabetic is getting better so i dont feel the need for 3 medications. thank you
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concern. If your sugar levels are getting down try reducing metformin dose from 2000 to 1000 and reduce onglyza dose. You have to titre the doses according to sugar levels. You can also shift to insulin to avoid side effects of such high dose medicines.
