My doctor prescribed me to take Cartizen 1500 one tab a day for my osteoarthritis. But when I have start suffering from acute constipation then I have suggested to Naproxen 500 twice a day. Is it correct and safe for me? While I have no other medical problem.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
There are four stages of osteoarthritis
0; no radiographic abnormality of osteoarthritis
1; possible Joint space narrowing and osteophyte
2; Definite osteophyte and possible Joint space narrowing
3; Multiple osteophyte, definite joint space narrowing, sclerosis
4; large osteophyte, marked joint space narrowing, marked sclerosis, bony deformity
In stage 0, 1, 2 Both Cartizen (Glucosamine and chondroitin ) and NSAIDs like Naproxen are helpful and inflammation can be cured with no destruction of joint space and cartilage.
3, 4 needs ultimate joint replacement surgery.
Among NSAIDs Naproxen has been studied to be the best anti inflammatory especially in osteoarthritis. I would like to advise you when ever you are taking it use to take it with two to three glasses water. Concomitant Proton Pump inhibitor like esomeprazole 40mg daily can be use to avoid peptic ulcer.
Constipation is not common with Cartizen.
Use bulk forming agents like Asphaghol husk, Do regular aerobic excersize thirty minute a day five times a week. lose weight by 10-20 Percent. Drink plenty of water at least eight glasses of water per day.
Hope it helps best.
