Is Morphine Safe To Have With Cold Medication?

I take a long acting morphine for severe pain and for 2 days I have been taking cold medicine as well, yesterday I got confused and actually lost my wallet and did some other things I would never do and now I do not have alot of memory of it? Should I not take cold medicine with my pain meds?

Hi,
I have gone through your query & understood your concern.
Actually morphine has a pain relieving property with strong sedation.Anti cold drugs have anti allergic component which also produces sedation to some extent.
Combination of both drugs is bound to produce the symptoms you had.
Please avoid taking both drugs together in future, Morphin alone with external remedies for cold like vapour inhalation/avoiding allergen/taking mast cell blockers ( Motelukast) can relieve cold.
Antigold drug along with added pain reliever ( with antacids if needed) can take care of both.
please consult your doctor for a proper prescription.
Thanks.
