Yes lately i have been to the ER for anxiety shortness of breath but most for panick attacks i think. Three times they have done ECG for me and blood work everything seems to be fine, but also I am taking medecine for high blood pressure since 2010 Enalapril and Hydrocloridiazide and today the doctor told me not to take the Hydro anymore but instead he presribe me the metoprolol 25 mg p.o BID. Even though I started the metoprolol today my heart is still racing 98. And still feel lightly pain in myleft chest. Please help.
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic Regarding your experience with panic attacks and the replacement of hydrochlorothiazide with metoprolol I am suggesting that it is not used for treatment of panic disorder rather it is used for ventricular contraction of the heart to enable the heart pump blood to the body system
In case of panic disorder I oblige you should take an anxiolytic medication and see a psychologist specialist for expert clinical assessment and adequate Councelling
I hope this helps Regards and get well soonest
