General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

Melacare ointment contains topical steroids and is not recommended to be used for long duration....also it is not a treatment for oily skin or to lighten the skin color.
I am afraid it can cause long term skin problems for you if used for prolonged duration or in excessive amount.
For oily skin I would recommend a good cleansing routine with a mild soap. Vitamin C creams and tablets are known for glowing healthy skin. Also daily application of oil free sunblock is highly recommended.

I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
