Is Meftal P Advisable For An Infant Suffering With Vomiting And Fever?

My 16 month old son and weights 9kg had vomiting yesterday shown to the Dr given antibiotic and medications for fever which raised in the evening at night 3:30 he was having fever given calpol but fever not subside can I give meftal p pls also suggest dose.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant have fever and vomiting sensation which seems to due to gastrointestinal disturbances and it could be due to acute gastritis. There are possible chances of electrolyte imbalance in body. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to take antiemetic like domperidone and ranitidine for gastritis. You should take plenty of fluids. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined. You should take Ibuprofen for fever. If you will feel sever symptoms of vomiting you should go to hospital and get antiemetic injection and intrvenous fluids after proper consultation. Avoid intake of hot spicy and sharp food substances.
