Is Lyrica The Right Medicine For Rheumatoid Arthritis?

I have rheumatoid arthritis, a fairly severe case for the last 30years. I have been on biologics, prednisone, and now I am on lyrica as well as the prednisone and pain killers. For the last few weeks, my fingers have hurt, the tips of them, that is. My thumbs have particularly hurt much more than usual. Recently I couldn t button a blouse because the tips of my fingers hurt so much, and now my thumbs hurt with the slightest pressure, and some of my fingers as well. The top joints of my fingers and thumbs are reddish, a different color than the rest of my skin. I have been out of town. Can you tell me what this might be? Is is associated with my RA?

Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your solicitousness

As per your information I may verbally express that the medication LYRICA contains pregablin which is utilized for neuropathic pain, seizures, and fibromyalgia etc and it is not for rheumatoid arthritis. Regarding your present symptoms my conjecturing will be to ruled out Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, the main symptom is tingling sensation in your hand, especially your thumb, index, middle, or ring fingers, but not your little finger. So to do a substantiation first by a physical examination by your Doctor. Finally, I may verbally express that this is not associated with your present disease RA.

Hope that helps
