Is Hydrocodone Effective In Treating Headache?

I have a severe headache this morning behind my eyes (?) and have a choice of taking Hydrocodone w/Acetaminifin 10/325, or Oxycodone w/Acetamenifin 5/325. I want to take the least strongest and am thinking of splitting the Hydrocodone in half, but don t want to have it ineffective. I don t have headaches often, and contrary to medical advice, I was given one each of these by a friend in the event that I do get a headache. Will you advise which one is more effective, but doesn t make me feel off ?

I read your query carefully.
According to details it seems to be Migraine.
If i will be your treating doctor i will Advise you to
1. Take proper sleep atleast for 8hours. make a proper schedule for eating and sleeping.
2. Avoid certain foods which might trigger the migraine like cheese,chocolates,red wine and dairy products.
3. Do regular relaxing exercises and walk.
4.Avoid sharp lights.
5. Take Acetaminophen 1000mg twice a day after meal. if it will not be helpful then take Naproxen 500mg twice a day after meal.
6. Naproxen is better to take as compared to hydrocodone.
