Is Hydrochlorothiazide And Aspirin Safe To Be Taken While On Amoxicillin?

yes....I am taking amoxicillin 500mg due to sinus infection. the doctor is starting me on a blood pressure medicine, hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg...I am also starting back on Zoloft 25 mg for the next week, then to 50 mg, also on a daily aspirin (25mg), and multivitamin. I take ambien CR 12.5 most nights. I am wondering about any drug interactions.

There are interactions between the medications you are on.

- Amoxicillin taken along with Hydrochlorothiazide can increase the levels of either medications in blood stream, due to decreased elimination of the drugs via kidney. This can lead to hypotension .If you develop dizziness, fainting etc please call your doctor.
- Zoloft, ambien and Hydrochlorothiazide when taken together can result in decreased blood pressure, dizziness, confusion, fainting etc.
- Zoloft together with Hydrochlorothiazide can cause decreased sodium levels (Hyponatremia) characterized by nausea,vomiting, confusion etc.
-Taking aspirin along with zoloft can increase bleeding risk, especially in elderly patients and people with kidney/liver dysfunction

Close monitoring is required while on these medications. Follow up with your doctor regularly and report to your doctor about any unwanted side effects.
