Is HIV Transmission Possible Through Saliva?

Hi! Earlier this week I had protected sex with an HIV positive man. He used his saliva as lubrication and as far as I know the condom did not break. I was spotting blood after. I am worried because that night I got my period. Is there a chance that his saliva mixed with my blood and I contracted HIV? My body has been aching and my ears are clogged I am not sure if these symptoms are because I'm thinking to hard or it is really a sign.

Hello
Although HIV can be isolated typically in low titers from SALIVA of a small proportion of INFECTED individuals ( but in your case status of your partner is not known ) , there is NO convincing evidence that saliva can transmit HIV infection.
Saliva contains endogenous ANTI VIRAL factors , that's why saliva can not transmit HIV(Saliva contains protective substances which protects HIV replication and infection ).
So you are not at risk of HIV infection.
Body ache and clogging in the ears may be due to tension and anxiety , so don't take tension.
I don't recommend you any tests for HIV in this case.
Good luck.
