Is HIV Transmission Possible Due To A Condom Tear During Intercourse?
a condom just tore during sex,after realising that 2mins later, i washed my penis and foreskin thoroughly several times with antiseptic soap and water, and have been doing so at regular intervals since then. Is that enough to prevent HIV or am i in trouble?

If I am your doctor I would like to advice you that there is definative chance of getting HIV theroratically. because tearing of condom makes you vulnerable to expose to vaginal fluids reach in HIV. But as you have taken the primary care by washing the fluids on the penis your risk is declined but yet the risk is there. you can get tested for the HIV P24 antigen at 3-4 weeks duration. The risk of HIV remains equal if there is slip or tear of the condom during any sexual activity to that of the the sexual activity without condoms. You need to be tested for HIV as per the protocol.
