Is Flublok Vaccination Dangerous In Terms Of Anaphylaxis Reactions?

I AM ALLERGIC TO EGGS I WORK AS A NURSE IN OB/NICU, HOW SAFE IS FLUBLOK VACCINE OUR INFECTION CONTROLL STAFF IS FEARFUL OF THIS VACCINE SINCE IT IS SO NEW, THEY STATE I WILL HAVE TO BE OBSERVED FOR 30 OR MORE MINS WITH EPI AVAILABLE AT BEDSIDE. IS THIS VACCINE THAT DANGEROUS. I HAVE NOT HAD AN ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION NEEDING EPI WITH EGGS. I JUST GET A VERY TIGHT THROAT THAT FEELS LIKE HAIR IS IN THAT BACK OF MY THROAT AND TOUNGE.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Flublok contains no egg proteins , you need not be concerned for egg allergy but ideally for every vaccine you need to be in health care facility for 15- 30 minutes to take care of any serious untoward reaction. I do not think vaccine is dangerous but as it is new vaccine , more fear is there .
