Is Fentanyl Patch Effective For Neuropathic Pain And Sciatica?

i am currently being treated for neuropathic pain, sciatica like symptoms chonically painful, nothing shows up on mri s, until I explore options of pain pump, or electronic circuit positioned in spinal fluid, I am currently at a lose, I have tried anticonvulscents to change the message to brain, side effects too much, had taken lyrica in the past, with good results but effected memory. currently taking Norspan (three days) no effect as yet, I have been told that Fentonyl patches are better than Norspan less addictive, I am at my wits end, I am 69 years of age, work part time in drug and alcohol, any feedback would be great, thanks.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the MRI is unremarkable then it may not be neurological disease but it could be muscular spasm and it can be managed medically with NSAID (Non-steroid Anti-inflammatory Disease ) and best drug would be "Tab Chlorzoxazone with Diclofenac" once in day, physiotherapy is would be good for this, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
