Is Fenoget Or Lipiget More Effective For Cholesterol?

I have triglycerides 380, BP is ranges between 120/130 ~ 90/ 100, Total Cholesterol is 177; doctor has suggested Fenoget 67 mg OD for 07 days, advised brisk walk & to reduce weight (200lbs - 5ft 11 ) and get rid of oils. Is Fenoget the best medicine; how about Lipiget (In terms of side effects & effectiveness). Thanks

Hello. Welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Fenoget is a fenofibrate which is more effective medicine to reduce triglycerides.

Lipiget is an Atorvastatin which is drug of choice in overall increase in other components of lipid profile (eg . Total cholesterol, LDL, VLDL etc).

In your lipid profile you have predominantly elevated triglycerides and near normal cholesterol levels. So fenoget will be better drug for you. A small dose of Lipiget can be given though, as you have not mentioned other components of lipid profile.

So different drugs have different indications but you should be given a combination with predominantly fenofibrate component.

Continue diet modifications and exercise.

Thank you.
Have a nice day.
