Is Duphaston Intake Necessary During Pregnancy?

Hi Doc, I am now completed 7th week and doc advised me to take Duphaston (dydrogesterone tablets) 10mg three times a day. Initially from 5th week it was 2 times and then after slight bleeding in 7th week she suggested three times. Note: This is my second natural pregnancy (no treatments) as i had abortion for first baby due to no heart beat in 8th week. And as of 6th week ultrasound there was no heart beat for this pregnancy. So please suggest me whether really i need to take this tablet at this time and is it safe to take it 3 times a day.

Hi I think you should repeat an ultrasound to confirm the viability of pregnancy. Duphaston is a progesterone which supports implantation and prevents miscarriages. So, it can help you regarding this. Get a thyroid profile done. If get us is normal, you can continue duphaston till 12 weeks. Hope it helps.
