Dear Sir,

Thanx for asking. Before I comment further Can i know a little more information from your end

1) Since you mentioned you have kidney disease .Can I know What was your Serum Creatinine value when you checked last time , did you ever get a test called EGFR done ?

2) What is the Dose of Diamicron you are using ?

Diamicron is nothing but brand name of Glicalazide (its a Short acting Sulfonyl urea - a type of Diabetic medication ) .. Its a good drug since many studies show benefit in protecting the heart ...

Generally in patients with Kidney disease we prefer short acting drugs.
But since you mentioned that even reducing to 1/2-1/2 is causing you low sugar .. Its better to Change you drug to another Short acting Drug called Glipizide.which is safe.

Glipizide has a shorter and Quicker duration of action - since it is metabolised by Liver - it is preferred choice of drug in those with Renal problems..

Hope this Helps

Looking forward to hear from you ..

Regards
Dr.Samuel
