Is Desonide A Safe Medication For Allergic Reaction?

TMI, so I apologize in advance. But my husband and I experimented with different lubricants this past week. And I MUST be having an allergic reaction. Vagisil doesn t help at all. I ve done some research and I have read that Desonide ointment is ok to use for this to help with the irritation and itching but what s equivalent to this, OTC?

Desonide is a topical (for the skin) steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling. Desonide topical is used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis.
Do NOT use desonide cream if:
you are allergic to any ingredient in desonide cream
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
