General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
You are on a cardio selective beta blocker which reduces the rate of the heart. If you have recurrent bouts of palpitations, you should continue your medication. Because, stopping the drug may leads to recurrence of palpitations. If you are prescribed with Bisoprolol after an episode of palpitation, you can well stop the drug. Some of the patients may develop withdrawl symptoms. Don't worry, you are on lower dose of drug. Consult again, if there is recurrence or withdrawal symptoms. Just avoid too much caffeine or amphetamines. Sorry if you are not. Avoid smoking and alcohol. Try yo be relax and healthy. Have happy days ahead.
