My mother in law has been on clonazapan (very small dose) along with an antidepressant-I believe Zoloft. Well she is 87 and was told she has a cancerous mass and was in such a panic, the doctor changed her anti-anxiety med (we just learned this today). But the last week her speech has been slurred and she is hard to understand. It reminded me of when my grandmother used to be on Valium and sleeping pills. Now I myself am on anti-depressants and clonazapan for major depression recurrent with PTSD and suicidal ideologies. I do not abuse these medications. When I asked what the medication was, she couldn t tell me. I mentioned Xanex and she thought it might be something that worked like that. Her memory is someone impaired-I think that is a combo of meds and she seems to have some dementia or early alzheimer s. I was a caregiver for clients with alzheimer s for 8 years. This is a curiousity question. Her doctor seems a little like a pushover. My grandmother s certainly was. By the way I don t know her doctor or his name = so it s not like I am looking to report him or anything.
