Is Cerik Syrup Safe For Small Children?

Hello,My 18 months daughter is a big fussy eater, and her hemoglobin is also lil bit low. So, my doc prescribed her ferrous syrup for her hemoglobin. & she is not a good eater he giver her cerik syrup. 3 ml in the morning and 4 ml in night. I give her that syrup.My frnd says that syrup is not for baby s. I am so worried about that.Can you plz advice me what to do. ?

You have not mentioned the height and weight of your daughter.
Your friend is not wrong but not entirely right as well. Cerik syrup contains cyproheptadine which has many uses including appetite stimulation. But it has some side effects like blurred vision, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, etc.
Here, you need to see the weight benefit vs side effects. If your daughter is really low weight for her age then you may use Cerik for some time (like 3 months) to improve her appetite and once she gains desired weight, you may stop it.
Cerik should not be used for newborns and infants but 18 months old can use it with caution.
