Is Cefoprox CV 325 Advisable For Fever And Headache?
Hi Doctor, I m suffering from fever and headache. The first day it was severe and from the third day there is some low fever.Doctor suggested me cefoprox cv 325. My tests : Malaria :negative, Typhoid: O,H:1:80 positive and AH,BH:1:20 negative WBC : 3000/cumm Platelets : 1.4 lakhs/cumm What kind of a fever is this ?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Fever and headache could be caused by thyphoid since a few serotypes were positive even though not strongly positive. The Gold standard test however for thyphoid may not be the antibody test you just had but identification of salmonella, the causative agent in a stool or blood culture. If you haven't had such infection for long and if you haven't taken antibiotics too for long, it may be the cause of your symptoms.I will suggest you continue with cefoprox since it is a good molecule to treat typhoid and observe. You may also add an anti-pyretic pain drug like paracetamol. If fever persist with all these, a blood culture will be needed. Hope my answer will help you Wish you a speedy recovery
