Is Betnesol Injection Necessary For Lung Maturity Of The Baby?
my wife is 34 weeks pregnant. Age is 27 years and this is 1st pregancy. Blood group is O -ve. previous USG suggested mild oligohydramnios.So colour doppler was done and it was normal with a score of 8/8.the obstetrician has advised 2 injections of Inj.Betnesol 12 mg 24 hours apart for lung maturity of the baby. I want to know whether it is very necessary, when the fetus is normal and is there any harm if betnesol is not taken?

Betnosol injection is necessary while gestational age is 34 weeks .
As you may know it is used for lung maturity of the baby ,and in this gestational age it is not completed.
Hence don't worry and follow doctor's advice .
