Is Benadryl A Good Alternative Of Trazodone?

I have trouble waking up numerous times a night and not getting back to sleep. Today I was prescribed Trazodone, 50mg. Now I read the side effects of this and I am not sure I want to try it. I take Tizanidine, 4mg., Ranitidine, 150 mg, and Erythromycin, 50 mg., and aspirin, 81 mg. at bedtime, when I am supposed to take the Trazodone. Are these okay? Also I occasionally take Sumatriptan, 100 mg and acetaminophen, 325 mg for headaches. I am going on an ocean cruise in a few days and have scopolamine 1 mg. patches I may use. Is it okay to just take Trazodone occasionally when I need it to sleep, or must it be every night? Could I just try Benadryl instead of the Trazodone?

If you suffering from allergy with insomnia benadryl is useful. It is increase falls in elderly people.

But tazadone Improves mood and helps you sleep.
works well as a sleep aid, but has more side effects when used at higher doses for treating depression.
