Hello
thanks for using health care magic

The cause of ischemic stroke is blockage of a vessel resulting from a thrombus or embolus. the role of aspirin is to prevent platelates from aggregating and forming eventually a thrombus or embolus.

Your father has once had a stroke, that puts him at high risk of getting another stroke. So, he must be put on aspirin continuously as a preventive measure.

Taking the aspirin is a good thing, nothing to worry about.
Best regards
Dr Achuo
