Is Amoxicillin Generally Recommended For Bacterial Tonsillitis?

I have had amoxicillin 500mg x 3 for three days now for my bacterial tonsilitis. I felt that the infection has generally improve but I am having a lot of side effect such as heart burn and loss of appetite. I could not concentrate at all and feels drowsy constantly. My sleep is really bad and I would sweat so much through the night my clothes would be soaked in the morning. I still have 4 more days of prescription and could not bare feeling like that for another four days. Would it be better if I get a different prescription?
