Is 8 Lbs Weight Gain Normal In One Month In 33rd Week Pregnancy ?

hi im 25 yr old n 33 week pregnant ...i gained 22 lbs last month and now i gained 8 lbs at a stretch in a month..my gyn assured that is not baby weight gain since tummy measrement shows normal n she askd me to fo for regular xcercise n walkin n said itz not good to gain 8 lbs in amnth n askd me to watch out my calories.. i dont think i gained 8 lbs!im really worried

Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.If you have gestational diabetes you will be at the risk of excessive weight gain. Try and eat balanced meals and avoid junk and fried foods. Excessive weight gain can cause the baby also to be heavier.Pregnant ladies with hypertension can also have weight gain due to water retention in the body. This weight gain is mainly due to hormones and you will lose it after your delivery.Have six or more servings of fruits and vegetables.It will also be very difficult to lose all your weight after delivery if you become excessively overweight. Wishing you a happy pregnancy.
