Is 733 Calories Burn Safe?

Hi I'm 240lbs, 41 yrs. of age, I currently eat 1200 to 1400 calories a day, and exercise 40 minutes a day doing kickboxing, which claims I burn 733 calories. I have a desk job, I work 8 hours a day. I want to know if what i'm currently doing safe for my body? No heart problems.

Thank you,

ELW

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You haven't mentioned your height. Anyway just in case you are overweight, kickboxing is a good way to lose weight. Just be consistent with your efforts. Your calorie intake seems optimal but make sure it is a balanced diet, which means you should strike balance between protein, carbohydrates, and fat intake. Consume fresh fruits and vegetables abundantly and keep yourself well hydrated drinking plain water. Sleep well for adequate rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepti Shivakumar
